For 2024, Collettivof proposes a catalog of new activities consisting of a review of three exhibitions at the Church of SS Crispino and Crispiniano made available by the Municipality of Palermo, Department of Culture, and two other exhibitions, respectively hosted by the International Photography Center at the Zisa Cultural Workshops, Ducrot Workshops, and by the Mare Bookstore at Cala.
The exhibitions will take place between March and December of the current year. In this case as well, we have thought of the same format: exhibitions featuring a talk and/or an event, involving some professors from the Department of Culture and Society of the University of Palermo. Below is a concise list of activities planned for the Collettivof 2024 Review, AnnoUno.
March 17-30 - Opening March 16, 2024
Church of SS Crispino and Crispiniano - Alessandro Ingoglia, The Soul of the Puppets. This is a work on the world of puppets and puppeteers; a world that risks disappearing soon. Ingoglia narrates the intimacy that develops between the puppeteer and his puppets, offering us a non-stereotypical and intense story. On Saturday, March 23, as tradition dictates, a talk will be held. Anna Fici (Collettivof) will converse with Prof. Stefano Montes and puppeteer Salvatore Blumbello. The author will be present.
September 15-28 - Opening September 14, 2024
Church of SS Crispino and Crispiniano - Fabio Savagnone and Emanuele Cottone, Biagio's Choice. This is an exhibition dedicated to the figure of Biagio Conte and his Mission Hope and Charity, and its relationship with the multiple sufferings of the city of Palermo. wo different authors narrate respectively Biagio's early and final years in Palermo. The topic is approached with a secular perspective that primarily reflects the depth of human relationships that the work of this extraordinary friar has managed to create around him. On Saturday, September 21, as tradition dictates, a talk with some significant witnesses of that extraordinary experience will be held.
November 17 - December 1 - Opening November 16, 2024
Church of SS Crispino and Crispiniano – Anna Fici, Danisinni. A neighborhood on stage. This is an exhibition that addresses the work of the Danisinni Theater Laboratory directed by Gigi Borruso with the support of Stefania Blandeburgo. The focus is on the relationship between the neighborhood, the city, and the social function of theater. A video screening is also planned. On Saturday, November 23, and/or during the finissage, the intervention of Gigi Borruso and the DanisinniLab Company with a play is expected.
October 4-30 - Opening October 4, 2024
International Photography Center - Transfigurative Photography Group Collective, Suspended Cities. Investigation on the landscape. This is a work that, inspired by Luigi Ghirri's Journey in Italy conducted over forty years ago, together with a group of extraordinary photographers, intends to revisit the theme of the landscape with a "transfigurative" approach.
October 19 - November 2 - Opening October 18, 2024 - CANCELLED
Mare Bookstore at Cala – Jose Carlos G. Aguiar, La Santa Muerte: an icon of death and justice in Mexico. This is a multimedia installation dedicated to the devotion towards the popular Santa Muerte: a relatively recent phenomenon in Mexico that presents aspects very close to our Day of the Dead. The author is an internationally experienced anthropologist who has dedicated many years to field research. On October 25, a talk will be held with guests Prof. Stefano Montes and the author himself.
