EXPRESSIVE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Are you ready to discover the power of images to express and recognize your emotions? This workshop offers you the opportunity to work with photographs and engage in experiential activities. In a safe environment, you'll have the chance to connect with your deepest sensations and share them within the group.

Being able to manage emotions appropriately allows us to live in harmony with ourselves and others. In the context of the Expressive Photography Workshop, images become our secret language to express what words often fail to communicate. Through the camera lens, we can capture moments, moods, and unique perspectives. Photographs become mirrors of our emotions, reflecting our inner selves and creating a bridge of connection with others.

The workshop will take place on May 6th, 8th, and 10th, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Studio Fotografico Savagnone, located at Via Leonardo da Vinci 49, Palermo.

In Art Therapy, it's assumed that painting, drawing, or expressing oneself artistically helps us better understand ourselves. Art becomes a safe place where we can experiment and explore our roles, relationships, thoughts, and emotions.

This happens in a group that promotes mutual acceptance and collaboration. The goal is to enhance understanding of others, improve relationships, stimulate creativity, and deeply connect with personal emotions.

In summary, Art Therapy is a way to grow and explore oneself, using art as a tool to become aware and transform, all within a therapeutic context.

• Foster personal experience to understand one's own body and its expressive and communicative potential.
• Activate spontaneity and creativity as the basis of every evolutionary process.
• Reshape psychophysical and relational resistances by actively listening to the needs of one's own body and personal and group emotions.
• Experience verbal and non-verbal communication.
• Use playful and creative actions to become aware of the Other as a bearer of needs and diversity, and then introduce elements capable of activating transformative dynamics.

The workshops are based on various techniques:

• The "Stanislavski method," which experiments with character depth and the search for affinities between the character's inner world and that of the actor.
• Augusto Boal's "Theater of the Oppressed," to relive daily social and personal oppressions, with the aim of finding strategies to transform conflicts into assertiveness and awareness of one's abilities.
• "Projective Phototherapy" uses photographic images, such as family photos or personal snapshots, to stimulate therapeutic communication through the feelings, memories, and thoughts these images evoke. (Judy Weiser Method)
• Improvisation.
• Masks and camouflage.
• Creative writing and storytelling.

Gianni Colombo

Theatrical actor, graduated from the Teates Theater School directed by Maestro Michele Perriera, and teacher of "acting exercises" at the same school.
Expert in non-verbal and body communication; expert in active listening and helping relationships.
Designs and leads experiential workshops and acting workshops, social animation, role-playing, and sessions of projective photography.
Conducts training activities and leads experiential groups in counseling and artistic mediation.
Obtained the Diploma of Counselor in helping relationships, with registration no. A1302 in the National Register of S.I.CO. (Italian Society of Counseling).

The course will be held exclusively in the Italian language.
