Saturday 28 January 2023, at 18.00, at the Historical Archive of the City; of Palermo in via Maqueda 157, sala Almeyda, Collettivof presents itself to the city. The Review of photographic exhibitions of 2023 will be illustrated, all at the Historical Archive, and the Manifesto in which the members of the collective propose their approach to research in the field of photographic and visual culture.
---
Collectivef an association recently established by eight founding members. Among them, there are some photographers and some willing photography lovers who intend to carry out a program of activities in the field of photography. Aimed at promoting photographic culture, also taking into account all its significant innervations in literature, history, political and social life, in the history of art.
These are precisely the intentions that give meaning to the first exhibition of Collettivof.
Taking distance from self-referentiality, the members of Collettivof have selected six authors and six different themes and approaches around a classic approach to photography, a writing tool on the things of the world.
On this site you can find the Manifesto which Collettivof wanted to draft. For us, it has the value of a constitutional charter to which anyone who wishes to approach or associate with, is entitled to.
The classic approach, consists of a series of elements: doing research within a photograph which, despite its variety; of genres, keep alive the relationship with irrevocability; of time and with individual and collective memory; considering photography above all as an argumentation tool and not an end; giving value to printed photography, as an object of art and the fulfillment of authorship.
In addition to the 2023 review presented at this event, to which we wanted to give the title of Collettivo Reviewf Year Zero, the collective plans to create themed meetings concerning authors, periods, movements, problems. It is open to the presentation of books, not necessarily photographic in the strict sense. We'll propose workshops on fine art printing and others in which photography is in dialogue with some other knowledge such as sociology, political science, psychological disciplines and psychotherapy, education, law, just by way of example.
We invite you to stay updated on our activities, through this website and our social accounts.
