Photo Lab - "View camera and still life"
Conduct by Fabio Savagnone
Event part of the VII International Photography Festival of the Mediterranean "Marenostrum"

The view camera or large format device was once considered the best a photographer could use.

For a long time it was the irreplaceable device for shooting architecture, furniture, still life and catalog images.

But today, with the advent of digital tools, does the use of large format still make sense?

We will try to understand what the advantages of this medium are: the greater size of the films, the possibilities given by shifting and tilting, the image circle, up to what today we could define as a hybrid use of the medium through the new possibilities offered from the digital world.

Finally, photographs of current and past still lives will be analysed to better understand what has changed in advertising language in recent years.

WEDNESDAY 14 DECEMBER AT 6.30 pm at Studio Savagnone - Palermo, via Leonardo da Vinci 49
